Dov Fuchs — Visual Philosopher

Digital artist and visual storyteller. Every artwork begins with the artist himself — subject, photographer and composer — and grows through staging, compositing and archival production into constructed realities of the self.

Thirty years of senior R&D in Israel’s aerospace industry. Degrees in aerospace engineering, psychology and creative writing. Two published novels. In 2007 Dov Fuchs left engineering to build a different kind of machinery — surreal, layered self-portraits exploring memory, identity, perception and the psychological experience of contemporary life.

Appearing in his own frames — sometimes two, sometimes thirty times as different personas — he composes each image from self-photography, staged scenes and AI-assisted elements: a patchwork quilt of the inner world, stitched with an engineer’s precision.

Studio & Process

From concept to archival print

Concept & staging. Each work begins as a written idea — a scene planned like a film still, with the artist as its only actor.

Self-photography. Tripod, remote trigger, dozens of takes — the raw material is photographed entirely by, and of, the artist.

Compositing & production. Layered digital compositing, AI-assisted elements, then archival pigment printing in strictly limited editions.
